When it comes to outdoor activities in Leicestershire, there are certainly plenty to choose from. After all, Leicester is a city famed for its sporting prowess, so it’s only natural that there would be masses of things to do outside for those of us who like to keep moving.
As a Leicester taxi firm, our drivers get to travel around the county quite a bit. So, as well as offering a reliable airport taxi service and taxi for a night out on the town, the team at Kirby Taxis also regularly take customers to places to keep fit and active.
Here are a few of our favourite outdoor activities in Leicester for anyone looking for something new to try:
Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre
You’ll find a whole host of activities going on at the Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre if you’re heading north of the city on the Loughborough Road. There is so much to do for people all ages – from the adventurous activity sessions of the children’s Activate Holiday Scheme, through to ‘Active Ageing’ for the over 50s.
There are also team building corporate days available, as well as instructor training courses, first aid courses, Duke of Edinburgh’s award and the chance to learn a ton of new skills.
Down in the south of Leicestershire lies Armourgeddon – a farm and WWII bombing range in Husbands Bosworth which offers a wide range of activities for individuals and groups, including corporate team building days. Here it’s actually possible to drive tanks and other military vehicles around, while you take part in an exciting paintball battle!
It’s also a must go to destination for Airsoft fans and plays host to a military vehicle museum for added interest.
Kilworth House Theatre
For those of you who like your activities slightly more sedate, or when you are on the hunt for romantic things in Leicester, check out the magical Kilworth House Theatre.
In this gorgeous setting, you can sit with loved ones under the stunning canopy and enjoy open air theatre, in a beautiful wooded glade close to the lake, in the grounds of Kilworth House Hotel in south Leicestershire.
The standard of the performances is absolutely first class, so if you’re looking for something romantic to do on a summer evening in Leicestershire, you can enjoy Guys and Dolls until July 2018 and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat runs until September.
